The O'Brien family recently discovered elevated radon levels in their basement. With little ones they have around, they didn't hesitate to install a radon mitigation system with us. This is a 1-point system that will be out of the corner of the home. There's also a Breathe EZ that will be added to HVAC system. There are multiple chambers on this home but homeowner and told me that he was possibly selling within the next couple years so the need of the system as well. There are also too small inaccessible crawl spaces so there is no warranty. Radon levels were a six to seven and homeowner said that he wanted to start with a single point before addressing other chambers within a home. Radon Mitigation is a Home Inspection Need

This client had an old radon mitigation installed in 2013 when the team checked, it was no longer working! Homeowner decided to have it replaced with a new one as he is planning to have the house appraised and his home inspector friend suggested to have his radon mitigation system checked first as he observed it's old age. The team installed on the same spot and educated client on how it should be maintained. He opted for a fan cover for maximum durability. 

This home radon levels measured over a whooping 50 pCi/L. I mean there are still higher levels out there, but can you imagine that amount of radon exposure daily? I guess not. The clients had a home monitor, and they barely checked it. When the time came, they heard the news about radon, they were so worried. They just moved in a month ago with a 10-month-old baby girl. This was a 5-point system with the radon fan out the north wall behind their A/C unit. 

The owner is familiar with encapsulation from his insurance background, easily understood our mitigation proposal. Having used our services before, he spoke highly of us. The reason for his current call was a potential radon issue due to a past home addition. The homeowner was very cooperative and led me to the crawl space upon arriving. The team will implement a two-point system, one connecting to the crawl space and exiting through the back corner of the house. Considering aesthetics, the homeowner prefers the extraction to run inside the fence, along the gutter. He was happy as his demands were granted. 

Ranch Home Protected with Radon Mitigation System

The lovely couple - Pete and Holly are very nice and both teachers. They had a ranch-style house with a finished basement. The installation plan was a sump pit with drain tile. They did mention they only wanted a simple system with not much work. The team provided the best options. The sump pit is next to lift station and along garage wall. The route will be moving up, entering the garage through rim joist, then into attic. They also added a 16x25 BEZ for radon filtration. Happy with how it turned out!
