Protecting a Growing Family from Radon

The client had recently learned about radon from a friend and decided to test their home. To their surprise, the levels were well above the EPA’s recommended limit. Concerned about the long-term health effects, especially for their two young children, they decided to act immediately. They contacted a radon mitigation company to install a system. After the installation, follow-up tests confirmed radon levels were significantly reduced, providing the family with peace of mind. The client was relieved to know their home was now a safe place for their children to grow up.

This installation was a simple 1-point system where we can run the extraction point from the plumbing stack and route it over to where their jar events are venting out. The client also lets the team know that there's some pump was not working and was looking to just have us complete that when we sealed it up. She had a radon test and returned with high levels. She is concerned for her kids and family's well-being.

High Radon Levels in Home Basement Raise Health Concerns for Family

The homeowner works in medicine and is highly focused on the health and safety of her family, especially with children regularly playing in the basement. She has lived in the home for four years and recently began tracking radon with an electronic monitor. Over the past month, radon levels have averaged around 18 pCi/L, which is well above the EPA action level.
