Radon Mitigation - New Market, IA
How to Live with Radon?
This client lives in very old farm house with an unfinished basement used for storage and it was full of cobwebs. We did advise her that it's not healthy keeping it that way. She requested a radon test before starting anything returned with a level of 6.2 in her basement and shocked as she has never tested before. She was feeling nauseous the past few weeks so it bothered her that it might be the high radon levels. She got a free estimate and the team saw that the home had an inaccessible crawlspace on one side, the other side has a garage that is now a finished living space. She had a small porch with conditioned air is slab on grade on front of house. The slab appears to be in good condition and no major cracks. The installation will be a sub slab extraction point on back corner of basement, second point horizontally to pull from old garage, exit house via rim joist, install muffler and route up. She was happy with this decision and will contact us back for duct cleaning!
Radon Mitigation - Stanton, IA
Concerned by the potential health risks associated with radon exposure, this family proactively sought out Radon Defense Midwest to mitigate radon levels in their newly purchased home. They had an unfinished basement, and their radon levels tested at 14. It was high and pretty risky since they have kids. We recommended the good spots for them to start with the installation and everything came to order.
Radon Mitigation - Woodbine, IA
Tim is a contractor so he is aware that having a radon mitigation system at home is a need. This is his 2nd property and the team needed to get the Iowa Department of Labor Registration to sign the proposal. The home has a small basement and needed to avoid a bumped out window with fan and exhaust, the client's replacing it and has to remove/replace some siding. It also had a small 6x6 crawlspace and an opening in the basement floor to seal with Cleanspace. We got the approval before anything else and the job was perfect!
ERV Installation - Exira, IA
In Iowa, this client's family faced indoor air quality issues despite efforts to maintain comfort since they moved in the home. Learning about ERV benefits from Iowa Radon Defense, they sought expert help. Identifying poor ventilation as the root cause, the team proposed an ERV solution. The clients eagerly agreed, and the system was installed by the team, effectively exchanging stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air. Thanks to Iowa Radon Defense's prompt service, they bid farewell to ventilation problems, enjoying a comfortable and healthy home environment.
Radon Mitigation - Osceola, IA
This home will have a 2-point system in the corner of the basement near the shower. There are two some bits. One is on the far side of the basement that needs to be sealed up with a dome cover and the second one is on the right hand side of the basement that needs to be sealed up with plexiglass. This is due to the fact that it is smaller. Homeowner is looking to finish the majority of his basement at some point in time so is looking for an attraction point to come out of the sump with the black cover and second extraction point in and around that corner area due to elevated right on levels. The homeowner is primarily worried about upcoming health concerns if he doesn't act on radon now.
