Two-Point Radon Mitigation System Installed in Iowa Home

A home with two separate basement chambers required a customized approach to effectively reduce radon levels. Because the basement was divided into two areas, a two-point depressurization system was installed to address radon beneath each chamber. The radon mitigation system was designed to draw radon gas from beneath the foundation and safely vent it outside the home. This setup helps improve indoor air quality while providing long-term protection against elevated radon exposure.

This client is preparing to sell their home, knew that high radon levels could attract potential buyers as per recent real estate articles. He knew he had radon but only made the decision today as it helps a property's image to be sold. He also had a home inspection, which advised the same thing. He requested a simple system since his home had an inaccessible crawlspace to begin with. The team installed the system on each side of the block wall in the basement, connected together to go out the patio. It has been proven that a radon mitigation system increases the home's value and attracting more offers.

This client was diagnosed with lung cancer and is very vulnerable to harmful environmental pollutants since a portion of his lung was removed last month. With radon being a cause of lung cancer, he made sure his two-chamber home was protected for his health. This is a two-point system one point will be exiting via the sump pit in waterproof storage room and a second point will be connected to this into the adjacent bedroom. The sump will need to be sealed and the team recommended taking a look at the second sump that they have. It was checked and sealed up perfectly fine and didn't need to do anything else with it. Homeowner was also looking into an ERV option but is currently out of the budget and also with doing some additional research on our free DC filter might be worth it than paying extra. The installation went well.
