Radon Gas Remediation in Woodward, Iowa

This client had multiple radon tests conducted on the main level of his home and returned with levels of 8. He has an unfinished space in basement. He mentioned in the winter he had levels as high as 12 on the main level. The install will be a one chamber basement and a dirt crawlspace with a heavy layer of gravel over it was later added as an addition with master suite above it. The opening from basement to crawlspace is 2'x2' wand the next access point is the sump pit with interior drain tile. Currently the floor drain leads to this, and a brown water pipe from his washing machine goes to this. No discharge line or pump, but a tile that lets water flow naturally outside and daylights. The client is also going to have a one way valve or flange installed on floor drain and pipe that leads outside. The final exit will be on backside of bathroom and bedroom closet. The client also requested a radon fan cover. 

This home had radon level results of 15 which is very high and need to mitigate on it. We explained to the homeowner before starting that his floor drain needs to be fixed and he agreed. That's where the interior tiles meet. We advised to remove old iron cover and sealed it with plexi upon installation. He was very happy with this decision of getting his own radon mitigation system for indoor air quality health. 

Prompt Radon Testing and Mitigation 

The customer’s neighbor had recently tested their home and discovered high radon levels. This prompted the customer to test their own property out of curiosity. To their dismay, the results were even higher than their neighbor’s. They immediately contacted a radon mitigation specialist to install a system. Once the system was operational, radon levels dropped to safe levels, and the client was grateful they had acted quickly to protect their family.

During a recent waterproofing project, a homeowner also had a radon inspection and testing completed. High levels were found, but the mitigation system had to wait until the waterproofing work was finished. Once the space was ready, our team stepped in to install a radon system tailored to the newly sealed environment. By waiting for the right timing, the customer ensured both waterproofing and radon mitigation would work seamlessly together. Now, the home is protected from both water intrusion and radon gas—delivering long-term peace of mind.

Radon Mitigation System Upgrade: Dual Extraction + ERV Installation on Family Farm

This family chose our EcoBlue system and is also testing other homes on their farm; potentially expanding to additional properties and rentals. For their main home, we’re installing a comprehensive two-point radon mitigation system along with an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) to address both radon and carbon monoxide concerns from the furnace. Extraction points will be located in the pool room and TV room, while the ERV will be placed in the laundry room, designed to pull air from one side of the house and push fresh air toward the bedrooms. Routing details are to be confirmed with the homeowners to ensure optimal system efficiency and coverage.
